We have brewed on this beer in a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop a of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

50 cl bottle @ ISKTR. Rated on 20.03.2011
Aroma has coffee, some licorice and vanilla. Flavour has some well roasted malt, coffee, licorice and hints of vanilla. Could not locate the rum here – and actually this is rather light stuff for an 11% ABV beer.

Bottle shared at my house. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of vanilla, fudge brownies, cocoa, roast chocolate and mild spices. Taste is more of a burnt black malt with some lactose sweetness. Medium body.

Bortle @ Monk’s. Dark brown/black colour with some head. Burned chocolate alcohol aroma. At least like to think that there is some rum flavour among the stronger chocolate and alcohol ones.

Drunk to celebrate my rating number 22,800. Bottled. A pitch black beer with a huge very dark brown head. The aroma has notes of rhum, chocolate, roasted malt, alcohol, caramel, and wood. The flavor very sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, burnt wood, caramel, rhum, and some chocolate, leading to a dry woody, roasted, and alcoholic finish.

50 cl. bottle shared @ friend’s house – purchased at Beer Planet – split & poured into rum glasses – A: solid black with a brown head – S: very sweet, syrup-like, cough syrup mixed with dark caramel malts, molasses, touch of chocolate – T: slightly roasted dark malts but never the less still very sweet, molasses, brown sugar a go-go, cough syrup, wood, touch bitterness in the aftertaste & most of all lots of sweet rum in here, rather tangible in the alcohol department but the sweet, sticky molasses rum nature of this is quite lovely - B: somewhat sticky & oily, more carbonated than you would expect it to be, definitely lively carbonation, nice sweet one

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a super huger dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of roasted malt mix in with light lactose notes and some subtle fruity ester. Taste is a good enough mix between some medium roasted malt with notes of fruity ester and some light lactose notes though this beer is more dry then sweet in the end. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Good though something is missing to make this beer something I would go for again and again.

A deep dark stout with a very thick creamy lacing brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light soy sauce, faint alcohol, still nice. Bottle from 2011, bb Feb 2015.

I mitt tycke något outvecklad. Ska nog lagrats. Nu blir den lite för kraftig och romaromerna har svårt att tränga igenom. Ska köpa en till och ställa fem år.
