We have brewed on this beer in a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop a of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

0.5l bottle. Yupp, this is a black one, and it has an impressive looking big espresso-chocolate brown head. Lovely aroma with chocolate, burned woodwork, stingy hops, sweet fresh baked brownies, heavy roasted malts and sweet chocolate cake. There is also traces of vanilla and cocoa. Quite deep, complex and really nice. It's somewhat on the sweet side this, but the roasted burned flavor compensate nicely. Small prickling carbonation level with a thick oily mouthfeel. Deep dark flavors here. I get bitter chocolate, woody rum, a strong sweetness with a herbal twitch. Also some thick sweet fudgey flavor in between here. Ends with a long dry and burned finish. Lots of things going on in this. A nice sipper that works great as a last-of-the-evening-beer. 17.11.2012

Draught at VilleValla Pub. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark fruit, wood, booze, banana and ash. Weird. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of ash/coffee, banana and biscuit. Full bodied with low to medium carbonation. Meh.

500mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours black with a large foamy tan head. Aroma is very chalky and coal-like, with some faint rum coming through and some burnt, ashy malt. Flavour has notes of rum and oak barrels upfront, some secondary dark fruit notes and some burnt ashy malt - it's got that chalky and coal-like feel on the palate and on the finish, as it did on the nose. The rum is quite prominent and the body isn't the most enjoyable due to the aforementioned qualities. Decent, but flawed.

50cl bottle @ Monks Porter House, Stockholm. Pitch black, opaque color, small sized, medium brown colored head. Smell roasted malts, a bit coffee, raisins, liquor. Taste roastyness, coffee, slightly alcohol, wood, liquor. Quite harsh, one to really really take your time with! Full body, full carbonation.

Bottle @ Rene’s house, courtesy of camons. Thanks Rene! Black appearance with a reddish brown head. Sweet caramel, chocolate, raisin/plum, mild rum aroma. Fairly roasty, mild roasty, big dark chocolate malty, moderate rum, a bit boozy, somewhat spicy, fruity flavor with a slightly boozy finish. A little strong but fun to drink.

Opaque black beer, short lived chocolate coloured head. Light soft and dry palate. Rich dark malt, unsweet dark chocolate. Unsweet woody tones, minerals. Not a bad stout but where is the rum? maybe a light trace of it in the finish. Whisper of banana. Stands on it’s own merit but was hoping for much more.

Draught @Viisi Penniä 16.4.2012. Poured black with a thin creamy brown head. Aroma had vanilla, wood, licorice and rum. Flavor was similar, lots of licorice, vanilla, roasted malt, alcohol and some ash. Long roasted finish. Sweet, oily and sticky mouthfeel. Full bodied.
