We have brewed on this beer in a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop a of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a tan head and a black body. Aroma of smoke, wood, brown sugar, alcohol and rum. Taste is sweet with rum, alcohol, smoke and leather. Medium carbonation. The smoke makes it not extremely drinkable.

At the Ølfestival, Esbjerg, Denmark 23-10-09. A dark brown pour with no head heralds the arrival of this fairly mighty stout. There is a little bit of rum and possibly oak on the nose but its not as obvious a I expected. Smooth nice woodiness, rich coffee and cappucino. Its creamy and pleasant. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Black color. Aroma of roasted malts, ashes, cookies, dust, light smoke. Strong body, sweet chocolate and ashes flavor; powerful, but low biterness, missing a bite. Very pleasant and good, but it could aspire to be better.

Medium brown head doesn’t last. Opaque black body. Harmonic roasty chocolatey alcoholic aroma with sugary notes. Intense alcoholic roasty coffee and chocolate taste with vanilla and sugar notes. Full body. Sweetish spicy alcoholic coffee aftertaste with earthy chocolate notes. Very nice and highly drinkable. The alcohol is nicely integrated. Spices don’t show up very distinctly, but they are present. Barreling no doubt rounded it off, and also added the vanilla, perhaps. Quite sweet. (0.5l bottle, HJ Hansen, Odense.)
