We have brewed on this beer in a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop a of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

Bottle. Pours black with a big tan head. Smells sweet and chocolate. Tastes too sweet for me, rum and some rosted malts.

On tap at Copenhagen beer festival. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma consisted of coffee and undertones of caribbean spices. Flavor was dark with some spice. What I would expect out of a "Caribbean Stout."

Bottled (Beer Hunter’s). Dark brown color, almost opaque, small brown head. Sweetish aroma of rhum, light hops and caramel. Medium-bodied. Light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Toasted caramel, milk, chocolate, rhum and raisins ... roasted and sweet.7 Reminds me about some milk stouts. Doesn’t feel like 11 , but has warming aftertaste. A bit too simple.

Bottled @ EBF 2008. Black body with a small beige head. Very pleasant aroma of roasted malt and a hint of raisins. Flavor is sweet, dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and just a little hint of room/alcohol. A big beer with an impressive balance, no flavors are dominating, everything is in harmony.

Test vom 27.12.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,11,12,12,-,12 - 11,84

Bottle at the European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. As their Russian imperial stout, it pours a beautiful black body under a tan head. A bit smaller head than the RIS, but still looking cute. Some alcohol to support the coffee, chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. The flavor is roasted, with a slight sour touch in the finish. Else there’s lots of coffee and chocolate. Full body. Long sweet finish. A nice beer indeed, but almost challenging to drink. I still think I love it. (080912)

Black with a lasting light brown head. Roast aroma with some wood notes, and some licorice. Sweetish flavour with burned and roasted malt and a touch of smoke. Wood and a hint of rum behind all the wonderful roastedness.
