We have brewed on this beer in a long time and we finally think it is a should. A very majestic stout with a hint of roasted barley malt, smoke malt, coffee, some spices and to top it all a drop a of rum. The beer has been seasoned on oak wood. This beer can stored many years in a dark closet or cellar, but is also ready to drink when it leaves our brewery. Buy an extra bottle and stash it for a special occasion in some years. It will develop like a god wine- only get better and better by the years.

500 ml bottle. Pours black with huge creamy brown head. Aromas of vanilla, rich dark chocolate, cafe au lait, and heavily roasted malts. Flavors of hazelnut chocolate, black coffee, vanilla, and heavily roasted malts. Somewhat oily. Alcohol is well hidden. Deadly. Wonderful stuff. Need to cellar a couple.

On tap @ Animal. Black with a tan head, very creamy and dense, good lasting and nice lacework. Aroma has roasted malts notes, with hints of wood and ashes, malts and ripe fruit are present as well. Flavor is roasted and toasted malts, licorice, coffee, slightly bittery but fine compensated with alcohol, notes of wood. The final is bittery, strong coffee with a good duration. In the aftertaste we can find notes of dark rum with wooden hints.

Keg at Craft Islington, 19/09/13. Dark black with a moderately sized dirty tan head that retains well. Nose is big roast malts with dark chocolate, light run and raisen back waft. Taste comprises sweet chocolate notes, roast malt blast furnace, brown sugarsm dark toffee fudge, light rum notes. Medium bodied with oooomph, fine carbonation but over cooked. Decent enough impy let down a little by the spritzy feel. The rum is well integrated into the beer though so not the sweet sticky messy it could have turned into with the wrong brewer at the helm!

Tap at Øltorget. 11% aged in rum barrels then added 30 bottles of rum. Thick pitch black pour with a rich tan head. Dark coffee & mild rum aroma. Coffee, some chocolate, vanilla, toffee & maybe some sweetness from the rum. Very nice.
---2017--- 10% Bottle shared by Mick and drunk out of some soju glasses in Kyoto. Deep inky black with a rusty tan head. The nose is rum and soy sauce. Medium to full bodied, very smokey, oakey, peatey and soy. Tasty but odd as I didn’t expect that smoke/peat component. Ap 4 ar 8 t 8 p 4 o 14 score overall was the same but individual values shifted a bit. Appearance went down while Aroma went up.

Keg at CBC. Pitch black with a low, dark brown head. Burnt nose with bacon, coffee, brown sugar, soy sauce. Super sweet flavor, soy sauce, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, burnt toast. Over-the-top. Tasty but too super sweet and cloying.
