The Helles style was first brewed in Munich in 1895 and is now the most popular beer style in all of Germany. Like the classic German Helles style, Leinenkugel’s® Helles Yeah™ is an easy-drinking, everyday beer but ours is brewed with American hops for a bolder taste, brighter aroma and snappy clean finish.

12 oz bottle, expired two and a half weeks ago. Aroma is doughy, creamed corn, cotton candy, grassy. Pours clear old gold with a medium fluffy white head with excellent retention; leaves some lace. Taste starts out lightly sweet before turning pleasantly bitter with nice earthy, grassy hop character. Highly carbonated, creamy mouthfeel, medium body. Excellent. Probably the most impressive beer I’ve ever had from these guys.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with visible carbonation and a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of grass and earthy grains with a bit of must underlying. Flavor has lots of grass with earthy grain and just a hint of biscuit backing.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Shop Rite - Hoboken, 3/30/14

Aroma: The nose is crystal malts, German yeast, some dough, and a little grass
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a frothy white head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, clean malty flavor, German yeast, and a grassy hop finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, with an lively carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a decent offering. It has a decent amount of crispness for a Helles, but isn't quite as crisp as I wanted. There's also too much carbonation present. Still though, this beer has more flavor that I expected it to have. Overall, this is a decent beer, but it isn't great.

bottle - Pours clear gold with a white head. It has a very mild grainy aroma. The flavor has mild hops bitterness and sweet, grainy malt. It’s light bodied, fairly refreshing, and thoroughly... meh. It’s okay I guess.

Clear pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is citrus, round sweet caramel, lemony, a touch of grain. Medium thin, slick body with mild carbonation. Flavor is citrus, a bit lemon, earthy, sweet grains. This is actually pretty good and follows thru on its name however, a hells this is not. A very nice hoppy golden lager (not sure why RB lists this as an APA when Leine says it’s a lager).

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden with a white head. Skunky aroma, a bit grainy, with light floral and grassy notes. Sweetish flavor, a bit grainy, with skunky hops, slightly floral, and a drier finish with a bit of bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Decent lager, crackery dry malts, floral and herbal hops, a little citrus to boot. Overall crisp and nice to drink. Pale golden, lightly cloudy, foamy head. Mostly balanced.

12 ounce bottle, 12/4/13. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of doughy malts and grassy hops. The taste is pale bready malts, mild grassy hops. Thin bodied, high carbonation, boring.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale gold with minimal head. Aroma of some light herbal hops. Taste is light bitter. Not bad really. Decent helles. The price is right on this too. CCC probably likes this better than the Sam Adams mix pack
