The Helles style was first brewed in Munich in 1895 and is now the most popular beer style in all of Germany. Like the classic German Helles style, Leinenkugel’s® Helles Yeah™ is an easy-drinking, everyday beer but ours is brewed with American hops for a bolder taste, brighter aroma and snappy clean finish.

Bottle @ home, picked up in a mixer sixer at Wilburs. Pours a clear golden appearance with an off white head. Aroma is full of corn, chalky grain, celery, and grass. Not good. Medium body. Moderately sweet and bitter. Twangy and corny. Cooked cauliflower and creamed corn. Pretty fucken bad.

12oz bottle from Wegmans, Buffalo, NY. Amber with a loose white head and light carbonation; fresh grassy hop aroma; light grainy body with some sweetness; and a gentle grassy bitterness giving a crisp finish. Just what I expect from a Helles.

Bottle, pours a crystal cleat light orange amber. Full fluffy white head. Light grain and cereal flavors and aroma. Still has that euro noble hop bite but also fair amount of sweetness to it. Just OK

Pours from a bottle a clear amber with a medium off-white head with thin bubbles. Aroma is a balanced, light malt, light aromatic hops. Flavor is a light well balanced maltiness and hoppiness. Nothing special but nothing bad. Thin in the mouth.

Draft. A- Malty, corn, slightly sweet, honey. A- Dark golden color, clear liquid, white head. T- Malty, honey, slightly sweet, wheat. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- From my understanding this is the Hoppin’ Helles under a new alias. A pretty average beer to say the least. Mostly malts with a little sweet subtle honey taste.

From a twist off bottle dated 1/14 it pours like a lager. Slight volatile aroma. First impression is decent co2. Then the typical hop stuff sets in. Not as strong as an IPA mind you, but certainly hoppy in a personality kindah way. Yes, perhaps this is more like a high hopped lager. Not sure if my lager loven taste buds can handle too much of this, tho. However, I must say it is somewhat refreshing in its own way.

The date on the bottle says \"May 26, 2014.\"
I poured this into a pilsener as the brewer believes this to be a Munich Helles Lager. I’m unsure why it is labeled an APA on here. No worries, here goes.
The appearance was a nice crisp clear golden color with rapid carbonation filling a two finger white foamy head that dissipates at a nice pace. There’s a fair amount of bubbles within the head and the lacing clings softly in a slight spider web sort of way.
The smell tries to have some slight bitter yet crisp spicy hops but for the most part they’re pretty subdued and end up letting a fair amount of earthy malts invade the aroma.
The taste is actually quite balanced between crisp spicy hops to the earthy malts. There isn’t any aftertaste but there is a quick dry finish.
On the palate, it sits pretty light and does show a nice sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation seems good for a Munich Helles Lager.
Overall, not a bad beer, but this is no where close to an American Pale Ale. Also, as a Munich Helles Lager, it also seems a bit under sweetened. Is this a cross between the two? Perhaps and still worthy of having during Summer sessions whatever this beer tries to be.

Bottle: An assertive pour yields a monster of a bone colored head atop a sparkling golden body. Tons of bubbles. At first, the nose is fairly hoppy with florals and pine. It settles a bit and becomes a little more malty sweet. A little corn syrup. Taste is lightly earthy, florals, grain, and corn syrup. Crisp enough of a finish to get past a little more sweetness than I care for. Lingering finish of corn syrup and grain. Meh.
