Californian provision ale with deep brownish beige, creamy, thin head and blackish colour with a wine-red hue which becomes visible only under bright light. Complex aroma of coffee, dry sherry, fondant, bitter chocolate, liquorice, whisky, pistachio nuts, vanilla, sweet paprika, banana, wood, orange peel. Candied fruits, banana and walnuts in the mouth, spicy notes (pepper, bayleaf), smooth and syrupy, thick mouthfeel, powdery too, finish complex with oaky tannins, assertive American citrussy hops, some cloying sweetness an warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Very rich and tasteful beer, somewhere between an old ale and an imperial porter.

A colablack beer with a big, light brown and slightly soapy head. The nose is strongly roasted, black coffee, milky sourness and liquirice, vanilla, hint of chocolate and dark fruits. Nice aroma.´Taste has liquirice, coffee, quite strong bitterness, nice roastiness, vanilla, the end is herbal. Medium bodied, easy to drink. The strong flavours, still easy to enjoy. Good beer.

Fra flaske Cardinaltreff aug-13: elegant og lett i smaken (for sin høye omrdreiningshastighet) og med en ettersmak som varer og varer. Rund og fin, dette er balansekunst. Viskøs karakter, et deilig dessertøl.
