bottle - Pours black with an aroma of dark roast malt, coffee, chocolate, peppers, and alcohol. The flavor is intense with all the elements I noted in the aroma blending together in a tasty, balanced way. The alcohol is noticeable but minimal for a 13% abv brew. It’s full bodied with some bitterness in the finish. Excellent beer.

Pour is a thick motor oil black with a small tan head. Aroma is a burnt malt with some sugar and vanilla. Flavor is at first a chili pepper I did not get in the aroma followed by some burnt malt, coffee and roasted peanuts. No alcohol is detected but you can’t escape the warming this gives you after each sip. This is a well made beer but probably not a $10 12oz worthy beer. Plenty of rich roasted malt, coffee and warming alcohol. This may be an hour sipper and you may get something different each sip.

Tap at The Well, New York. Colour is black with brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Green paprika, dark chocolate, some coffee, some vanilla and roasted malts. I was expecting more.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black with a small, short-lived light tan head. Nose is coffee, roasted malts, vanilla and chocolate. Taste follows aroma with an ancho chile pepper finish that isn’t too harsh and dovetails with the other flavors quite nicely. Mild bitterness with a rich, full body. ABV is well hidden. Very good.

Lovely beer to start a new year.
Complete black (surprise surprise) with a creamy beige head. Nice lacing down the sides of the glass. Quite rich and fine intensity in the aroma. Full body and a soft ish carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. A bit oily texture. Complex little devil, but not that much chili. And that’s good. Coffee, chocolate, roast and some spices. Well masked alcohol.

Tap (Szynkarnia, Wroclaw). Barwa niemal czarna z subtelna, brazowa piana, praktycznie bez lacingu.

Review from memory - pitch black, thick, with a small espresso head. Smell dominated by cocoa and dark chocolate, with some coffee excellently integrated into the mix. The taste is also very cocoa-heavy, with vanilla and coffee, caramel and a bit of alcohol warmth (or is it the chilies?). Excellent beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bomb! on 05 Aug 2016 at 21:29 - Score: 8

Thanks Maakun! Really dark brown/black goop. Deep roasted malts. Dark choco & coffee w/lots of vanilla. Then lots of pepper on top of rich melasse. Little to moderate sweet, spicy. Full rich body, slick but also muddy/sandy texture & very dry. | [2018-08-04 23:13:08] - Locatie: SjogroWorld™ - Score: 4.25 - Comment: Diabetes Rex | [2024-05-26 21:25:29] - Locatie: Murphy's Law - Comment: Cause we can and we don’t stop!
