Our big and bold American Imperial Stout utilizes holy water and a malt bill including smoked malts for an Imperial Stout that bursts with dark malt flavor. Rich notes of coffee, and chocolate mingle throughout an intense and full-bodied Stout.

Bottle. Deep opaque brown body, medium dissipating light brown head. Rich nose, lots of coffee and charred sugars, sweet, smoky, and vinous with notes of dark chocolate and dark fruits. The first impression the body makes is charred notes and prickly, warming alcohol, subsiding into a lingering bitter, sweet dessert of dense dark sugars and roasted coffee. Nice interplay of smoky, sweet, and bitter elements. Very good beer.

Rust-beige head, very soon gone over very carbonated brown-edged black beer. Tobacco nose initially, as from cigartobacco/leaf, bit of thick chocolate wafers, as well as wet cardboard, and lastly some weird, not really waned aroma (I’d rather not name), that comes with every new sniff, immediately to vanish again - fleeting but repeating. Tobacco, black & milkchocolate, bitter finish with moccha and more black chocolate. Dark green leaves (aucuba), wood. Quite carbonated; slick, velvety MF, warming alcoholheat. I’d preferred garlic as the extra aroma, even as a vampire.

Bottle. Pours with a near black hued body with a moderate to small tan head that fades to a ring. Aromas are floral, spice, chocolate, estery, vanilla, light smoke. Flavors are big, roasty, light smoke, huge esters, chocolate, moderately dry for the ABV and Style. Creamy carbonation, big, warming and fruity.

0.65l bottle bought by my kind girlfriend at Kihoskh as a surprise. This has a thick fat oily black pour and on top of that there is a nice small dark chocolate head that eventually sticks to the sides of the glass. The nose on this is really packed with lovely aromas. Thick dark and roasted with a strong sweetness, barreled dark Belgian chocolate, vanilla, half baked brownies and a subtle really suiting smoked touch. Really nice and fully packed with aroma. It has a nice small prickling carbonation level in a thick oily, yet light and almost cloudy mouthfeel. Loads of flavor also: The smoke is more present in the taste than the aroma, and I get loads of strong espresso coffee mixed with dark Belgian strong chocolate, dark honey, malty sweet biscuits and chocolate icecream. It's kinda sweet perhaps, a bit more than I fancy in a beer I want to drink loads of, but it's not to cloying. The aftertaste is the same as if you have rushed twelve dark chocolate bars with a warming sensation down the throat. A fine fine sipper indeed! Thanks Ina! 21.01.2013

(Bottle shared with Tony@The Lord Alwold) Black in colour colour with a frothy tan head and healthy lacing. Aroma and taste is heavy roasted caramel malts with nuances of chocolate, light coffee, licorice. Love both this beer and its name/artwork!

Bottle from Beers of Europe shared with Reuben at the Lord Alwold, Lee. Black pour with a tan head. Treacle toffee and caramel aroma. Coffee, chocolate, licorice and toffee malt flavour. Very smooth. Dry, long malt finish. Very tasty.

Sample at the 5th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/26/2013: The beer pours pitch black with a medium thick beige head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of coffee, malt and anise. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, licorice, and coffee. The finish is burnt malt and coffee. Pretty good overall.
