Tap. Pours hazy amber, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is indeed earthy and a touch smoky, caramel and toffee. Flavor is light plus sweet, very lightly bitter, more pronounced peaty smoke profile, earthy. Medium body, very light acidity. Interesting.

This was poured into a thistle.
The appearance was a hazy burnt to bronzed brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds leaving some messy lacing sliding into the beer.
The smell started off with a sharp sweet toasty caramel malts. There’s a light breadiness with a decent smokey to peaty background to sticky sort of meat like substance.
The taste was mainly sweet with an ample amount of smokiness riding into the meaty portion. There’s a lingering sweet meaty aftertaste leading into a semi-sweet sticky finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth and really light. It’s good for what it is.
Overall, this was a pretty good Scottish ale that I could have again. Everything fits for the style.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Winooski Beverage, 8/19/15

Aroma: The aroma is caramel malt, some earth, and light notes of peat
Appearance: A cloudy darker orange-amber color with a thin beige head and light, spotty lace
Flavor: The flavor is much like the aroma, malty and a little sweet, light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, lively carbonation, touch of stickiness, and a light dry close
Overall Impression: Thought this was a solid Scottish. It's not my favorite style, but I thought they did a pretty solid job with this one. Feels fairly true to style.

Bomber from Winooski Beverage, 4/15/15. Clear amber, medium sized creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malt, earth, a hint of frutiness and caramel. The taste is caramel, earth, smoke, toasted malt. Thin bodied, low carbonation, decent balance.
