Alesmith's Finite Red IPA, previously known as Winter Yulesmith, offers up an intense hop aroma combined with a well-balanced, full bodied, caramel-malt sweetness.

In celebration of our 30th Anniversary, we’re excited to bring back YuleSmith! This Double Red IPA balances caramel and toasted malts with big citrus and pine hop notes. A winter warmer that’s perfect for the season.

Bottle sampled at a tasting. Dark amber pour. Hoppy citrus aroma, with tropical fruit. Tastes like malt sugars, grapefruit and pineapple. Medium body with a medium-high carbonation.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Intense red IPA indeed. Nutty and heavy, full and meaty. Lingering finish. Well hidden booze in the pleasantly balanced beer.

Shared bottle at home. Pours clear dark rugby red with dense long lasting off-white head. Aroma of pine needles, caramel, resin. Tastes slightly sweet, but bitterness dominates. Alcoholic warmth, medium bodied. A very nice beer.

dark amber to reddish brown colour, adequately large, dense, creamy yellowish-bright beige-ish head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of pine resin, citruses (grapefruit), tropical fruity and maybe some floral notes, biscuit (shortbread), some caramel and hints of grape; bittersweet taste with resiny, overripe tropical fruity (papaya, mango, some passion fruit) and grapefruity notes, biscuits, caramel, some roastedness, herbal medicines and hints of floral honey; besides the intensive bitterness, there is something peppery-spicy (ginger???) in the aftertaste; this is what I consider to be a(n almost - well, this spiciness is somehow, though slightly, disturbs me) perfect IIPA!

Draught at Himmeriget, Cph. Dark, amber colour with a golden tint. Medium sized, off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus fruits, grasses, resin, rich caramel malts and a toasted note. Taste is bitter. Full body with a rich, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes lasting drying and bitter with pines, citrus fruits and caramel malts. Lingering toasted notes. Excellent IIPA!

Bottle, bottled 11.11.2015 (from beergium). Pours red amber-copper with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is hoppy, pine, citrus, passionfruit, malt, caramel. Flavor is sweet and bitter, grass, citrus, grapefruit, passiofruit. Finish is very sweet and grassy-pine bitter. Alcohol is mostly covered. Overall: very well made red ipa, but I just don’t like grassy hops, hence I can’t give this higher rating. --- Beer aliased from original tick of YuleSmith Winter Holiday Ale on 12 Mar 2019 at 16:41.
