This was poured into a snifter and showed a semi-dark golden color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma traces some banana, dark fruits, light breadiness and yeastiness around some caramel malts. Light evaporated citrusy qualities show in a mild wine-like quality.
The flavor blends the banana and dark fruits to the citrusy and wine-like quality. Mild blended wine to banana to dark fruit aftertaste with the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Vinous grip on my tongue.
Overall, this has to be one of the strangest American Strong ales I have ever had. It’s not bad, just extremely different for the style and I’m left scratching my beard on wondering if this really fits. Vinous qualities need to be a bit more controlled, in my opinion.

Bottle from BevX360
Hazy light amber color. The vanilla barrel aroma marries well with the malt, mellow result. Good body strength, moderately sweet, nice malt flavor, with a clear oak barrel action, and light banana traces; the alcohol is well managed, but it adds a nice edge.
Quite good beer.

Bottle - Light stone fruits and sweet honey notes. Cloudy gold with a decent beige head. Fruity, bubblegum, stone fruit, light booze and some nice sweetness. Although not my style, quiet nice

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of pitted fruits, some caramel, and subtle wine notes. Flavour is quite sweet, with caramel malt, candied pitted fruits, and brown sugar. Not really getting any of the wine barrels. It's just a nice, sweetened strong ale with pitted fruits. ABV is well-hidden. Good stuff.

Bottle at the Boise BP hazy golden pour with a thin fine white skin. Fruity spcy aroma. Light malty a little belgianish. Some cider notes and warm alcohol burn. The barrel aging is subtle and nice.
