Belgian Style Imperial Stout

Pipeworks composed this beer during the good-beer-is-the-pointillism period, using a malt bill with a gentile roast character and a spicy, yet fruity, yeast. The Brewers meant to evoke feelings of deliciousness. While drinking Belgian Gothic, look for the headphones symbol which indicates beers part of the PW audio tour on our blog.

Tasting at Matt’s, batch 612/613, 01/19/2015
Black color with creamy brown head. A nice dark malt sweet strong beer, not thick, with high alcohol perception, smells like Haribo liquorice wheel, moderately sweet, a bit old and tired.
Nice beer.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly hot, with alcohol, Belgian yeast, and light roast. Flavour brings out murky earthy notes, some Belgian yeast and a touch of roast. Rather confused flavour profile. Not offensive, though not very pleasant either. A miss.
