HOMMAGE is a distinctive ale that we see as a tribute to Oak Aged Trappist Style Brews of yore. HOMMAGE is well hopped and aged for one year in Red Wine Barrels with great respect (and Brettanomyces).

Nose is funky, yeast esters, pissy citrics, tangy citric rinds, musty. Taste comprises wood must, funk, light brett, tangy red berry licks, apple core, straw, light floral notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent.

Bottle at the Funky 6. Pours cloudy gold with a slight, off-white head. Lightly funky aroma, musty, with some toasty malts. Fairly sweet flavor with some flowery sweetness, Belgian sugars, funky yeast. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Finishes with hints of alcohol, sugary malts, light wood and lingering funk. Interesting and pretty good.

22oz bottle shared at BCTC, happy I got to try this. Aroma is an interesting mix of oily-sugary fruit and flowers. Flavor is sweet but not too sweet with carbonated flowers. Short aftertaste, which is good cause this is a weird beer and I have no idea what the heck is going on.
