2nd August 2008. Clear amber beer. Slightly creamy malt start quickly overwhelmed by bitter hop which linger on the back of the tongue. Too bitter to enjoy, nothing else from the hops but bitterness!

Dark amber color. Toffee, apples in the mouth, but overall pretty boring stuff.

Cask handpump at the brewpub, Oakham, Cambs’ 23-01-09 Pours deep amber with a white head. Condition wise this really was quite excellent. Good streaky citric bitterness with a nice layer of honey, syrup and malts. There is a little bit of toffee banana and it has to be said that this beer drinks far easier than the abv would suggest. 50cl bottle from Tesco, Alfreton. Gold with a thick creamy off-white head; rich fruity malt aroma; rich chewy malt flavours too, but slightly stewed; with good hops to balance; finish is rather caramel sweet though. Good in parts.
