Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, coffee, some smoke. Flavour is roasty, sugary sweetness. I would have liked this better if it had a little less of a sugary sweetness to it. That being said, this is a fine roasty/smoky Porter, a typically Duits & Lauret take on the style.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Dark brown coloured brew with an medium dry bitter taste and hints of chocolate, coffee and some tiny bit of smokiness.

Bottle. Dark Brown color. Roast, caramel and a hint of smoke in the shy aroma. Malty sweet roasty smoky flavor with caramel. Well balanced, Well made quite drinkable beer.

33cl Bottle at home, bottle from Van Alsem. Black with small head. Chocolate, sweet nuts, roasted grains. The ingredients are there but it’s not ’happening’. Backlog from 2015/01/20.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Dusty yeasty and chocolately and minimally roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of dark fruit, a touch of smoke. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, roasty, chocolately, hints of smoke, wood, fruity hints of plum and dark berries; lasting, moderately sweet finish.
Very sweet, maybe too much. Some wood, tiny bit smoke, but everything is overpowered by the sweetness. Not good enough.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Duits & Lauret TeVreden MMXIII ].Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sweet malt, smoke, meat - butterscotch. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, smoked, meat, sweet meat - smoke. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150619]

33cl Bottle. Had this a while back, thought I still had a big bottle, but that turns out to be the XII. Dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, some coffee, roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, pumpernickel, dark fruits, quite watery and very light overall. Light bodied. Meh.

Bottled. Coppery black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is metalllic, earthy and some mild ripe fruits. Flavour is metallic, some alcohol, ripe fruits and mild leathery notes.
