Sampled at the Black Squirrel pours a murky brown with some sudsy, white head. Nose has quite a bit of malt, some muddled spice, lightly vegetal. Flavor follows, light fruit, mild cracker, malt, caramel, some spice. Medium, salty finish. Should have been a train wreck, but actually it was quite mild.

3 ounce draft pour at Adroit Theory. Poured a clear ruby color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some interesting spice notes, some horseradish. Flavor was a little spicy, some tomato I suppose, though I might have "tasted" it once I read the full description. Some salt and herbal notes. Odd, but kinda tasty.

3 ounce draft pour at Adroit Theory. Dark amber/ruby with light tan head. Aromas of horseradish and spices. Tastes of spices, roast, toffee, salt, slightly spicy peppers. No tomato flavor which is okay with me. Medium body with a dry finish. Interesting beer.

Draft at Three Notch’d. 7/1/14. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, mild tomato, herbal and pepper notes. The taste is chocolate, peppers, roast, mild tomato and salt. Medium bodied, low carbonation, slight lingering heat, good balance.
