Again, the basic old and young lambic are matured in oak casks. But here we add to one year-old lambic about 400 grams of real cherries per litre. This creates a second fermentation in the casks. Oude Kriek Boon then undergoes a further fermentation in the bottle and has an alcohol volume of 6.5%. After several months, the flavour has matured to the desired taste.
Oude Kriek Boon is a test of your patience. It should lie about 2 years in the bottle. At first, it tastes of fruit, especially sour cherries. Oude Kriek Boon eventually evolves into a deep taste reminiscent of Port or Madeira wine. This is kriek at its best.

Red with a pink head - good funky aroma along with cherry - good body with wood and cherries with some sournes as well - Long finish with wood cherries and a Nice sourness - This was good

Bottle shared at De Paas. Pours clear red with a moderate pink head. Aroma of sweet cherrie with a little tartness. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light acidic. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Just a shame it’s sweetened..

Donker rozerood troebel bier met gemiddeld schuim. Smaak is zuur en droog met duidelijke kriek smaak. Blijft redelijk lang hangen. Vanwege de zurige smaak niet echt mijn favoriet.

Boon oude kriek. 37.5 Blood red light head raw dry and old cherry nose. Bright cherry fruit salad taste. Very dry mouthfeel. Almost no sugar. Way better than regular book kriek

Appearance: 2012 vintage. Dark red, clear. Nice amount of head, slightly pink. Aroma: Cherries, slight tartness. Taste: Tartness, then cherries overload. Sorry Kriek-fans, not for me. Info: 375ml bottle, 18/4-2014, 57/100, BB: 22/1-2033

Shared 375 ml green bottle at local tasting. 2008 vintage. Deep red colour, small pink head. Lovely aroma of sour cherries and farmhouse, hints of marzipan. Fine flavour too, sour cherries but not lemony, hints of almonds. Harmonious and pleasant.

0,375 flaske (2008-årgangen) delt med gode rbhd-venner ombord på Fridtjofen april-14: en fantastsik aroma, dette ølet må inhaleres. Dessert de luxe, eller som aperitif i høye, elegante stetteglass. Stillheten senker seg, vi har funnet nirvana.
