Again, the basic old and young lambic are matured in oak casks. But here we add to one year-old lambic about 400 grams of real cherries per litre. This creates a second fermentation in the casks. Oude Kriek Boon then undergoes a further fermentation in the bottle and has an alcohol volume of 6.5%. After several months, the flavour has matured to the desired taste.
Oude Kriek Boon is a test of your patience. It should lie about 2 years in the bottle. At first, it tastes of fruit, especially sour cherries. Oude Kriek Boon eventually evolves into a deep taste reminiscent of Port or Madeira wine. This is kriek at its best.

375 ml. bottle, 2008 vintage, poured in to a flute. Deep, deep red colour with a thin, bubbly very light pink head. Fruity, sour aroma with tart cherries, fruits, oak barrel - rather wooden actually - earthy, leather-like notes. Taste is sour. Medium body, slick texture and a flat carbonation. Finishes long lasting acidic with tart cherries, lots of wood and yeasts. Some spices. Excellent Fruit Lambic.

2012 bottle. Pours deep red with pink delicious foam. Aroma is berries (mostly cherries but also red currants), a mouldy barnish touch with some yeastiness. Taste is initially berries and progresses into a vinous sourness. Ends dry. Body is medium. Not as harsh as some krieks can be. Very tasty.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus and Ansjelaah @ weekly tasting. Nice deep dark red color, medium sized lightly pink head. Aroma is quote nice: red fruit, lightly sweet, strawberry and cherry. Taste red fruits, strawberry, cherry, pretty dry. Lovely balance, medium body, a bit fizzy carbonation, nice and fresh. Wow, really good!

Bottle 375 ml. Pours almost clear dark red with creamy pink head. Loads of cherry in the aroma, some citrus, stable and raspberries. Very fruity to the taste, lots of cherry, some citrus and strawberry. Some sweetness and somewhat thin mouthfeel.
