Tap at Nakameguro taproom. My favourite of the three stouts I had that night. Dark brown, big bubbly thick golden head. Aroma is oaty, bit of roast, touch of chocolate maybe. Littke bit of citrus. Taste is quite nice. Mellow and slightly creamy, roast again as expected, slight hop bitterness, touch of vanilla, bit of citrus fruitiness in there but well hidden. Finish is big and dark, thick and roasty.

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014 - Session 2. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds dark bread and milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted brown bread, light earth, roasted malts, burnt caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet on the finish, with basic and mild roast character, some sugary chocolate. OK stuff overall, just a bit one-dimensional.

On tap at CBM Jimbocho in 2014. Pitch black with a foamy tan head. Huge espresso aroma with hints of cacao nib, licorice and chocolate malts. Tastes bitter and sweet with nice balance. Medium-body with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Dark fruit becomes more prominent as it comes to room temperature. Nice bitterness on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Midnight Oil Foreign Export Stout on 10 Feb 2016 at 09:38
