From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Ghost 1087. Bitter and fairly malty with grapefruit, light caramel, some pine, touch of candied fruits. A bit on the sweet side with a long (and strong) bitter finish. Medium body. Decent, lacks some fresh hoppiness.

Completely clear deep golden and light amber coloured body with a relatively thick off-white and tan head, starting at three to four centimetres tall, but fading to just two centimetres after a few seconds. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, lemon cleanser and a dry malt and yeastie note with a good bitterness noticeable, too. Light to Medium-bodied; Very deep herbal, grassy and even slightly perfumey hop notes show at first with a good kick of blood oranges, grapefruit and a crisp malt bite near the end, but very dry and hop-centred. Aftertaste is clean, showing a tiny dose of the malts, but mostly dry, grassy, citrusey and slightly piney hop flavous that bring out a lot of alpha acids , simplistic notes throughout and an excellent bitterness of an old school IPA. Overall, a surprisingly nice, no frills, no schtick IPA that barely borders on Imperial Status, but delivers a pure West Coast IPA like bite of the IPAs of old, but in 2021 and also from the East Coast! Great to try fresh and super local! Get it if you pine for the days of real, bitter IPAs they used to make! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Wegman's [grocery] in Tyson's Corner (Vienna), Virginia on 29-October-2021 for US$1,99 (mixed six pack), canned in September 2021 with the tagline 'Hallucinogin' and sampled at my house here in Washington on 11-November-2021.
