Bock ’n Black was the brain child of Chris Wong, Director of Beer, Wine, and Spirits at Schnucks Markets. This release is the last of a 4 part series in celebration of Schnucks and its 75 years of serving customers. This wheat beer pours black in color with a firm white head. A rich malt body is accented by notes of banana, clove, and maple.

Pour is a nearly black with a very small tan head. Aroma is some brown sugar with a bit of molasses. Flavor is vanilla and maple syrup to start then a silky smooth sweet chocolate follows. Finish is more sweetness. I don’t think this is a weizen bock. I did not get any banana or clove. This is probably more sweet stout than anything. This is still a decent beer. The strong maple and vanilla are really nice additions.
