Juicy, big, & deceiving. This beer is well balanced between the huge hop profile and the malt backbone.

Can from Tyler: pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is grapefruit and loads of malt. Old school, malty, bitterish, citric.

Can at a mini-RB gathering in November. Poured a clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma was tropical fruits, light sweet malts. Alcohol notes were pretty powerful. Light bitterness.

Draft at brewery. Aroma seems subdued at first, but offers a wonderful bouquet of hops and pine. Silky smooth mouth feel. Hops bite the tongue before melting into your mouth. Extremely smooth for an IIPA. Late warmth creeps in too. Nice.

12oz can poured into Free State can shaped class. Canned on. Medium foamy strong head from hops. Not very sticky. Clear beer throughout. Color is dim lightly orange hued gold. It’s in many ways your typical IIPA with clean, fresh hops, low malt presence, and a felt bitterness. There is one special caveat, the aroma has this beautiful clear juicy passion fruit aspect. It’s like they made their typical fine IIPA but tried to add a new hip hop or maybe actual fruit. Would like less bitterness but a very clean and well made hoppy beer.

Really well done. Wouldn't know it to be the alcohol content.

Draught at Lulu’s, 6/17/16.
Glassy/hazy, light amber-golden body is topped by a succinct but fairly well-retained white head.
Earthy, lightly soapy and oxidized?? is what I get from the nose....Hmmm. Some grapefruit and tons of yeast ester as it warms with definite alcohol showing through. Not much going on malt-wise; biscuits, bread dough, bread crust....
Seems oxidized perhaps, but then there’s also some very dirty notes, light metal and lots of earthiness. Cherry-grapefruit-orange adds a touch of hop character and moderate bitterness as moderate carbonation is powerless to do anything with all of these horrible flavors. What the F is going on with this brewery? Also why did they serve these beers?
