A triple beer. The colour is blonde to slightly amber. The beer has a sweet to spicy taste. A traditional beer with high fermentation level, produced in small quantities, using only natural ingredients: hops, yeast, water, spices and barley malt.

Clearish golden coloured body with an orange glow and a thin, fast-dying off-white head. Aroma of pears, alcohol, honey, yeast, grass, hay, curacao and a bit of gueuze. Medium-bodied; Nice sweetness up front of honey and figs with a little malt backbone and a grassy, hay, barnyardie flavour on the outskirts of a biere de garde. Aftertaste shows some pears, apples, fruits and a little sour kick, but mostly just sweet and relatively easy drinking. Overall, a surprisingly (from the horrible ratings) nice beer with a bunch of good flavours, some nice complexity and a good overall profile. Please note that this is not an abbey tripel by any means - more of a simple Belgian Ale than anything else. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 28-December-2007 sampled at home in Washington on 05-October-2012...I kept onto it for ~5 years, and it turned out to be very nice. Bottle from Lot B in Sept 2006 (shown similar to the picture on the right).

Clear amber beer, good white frothy head. Light dry palate. Very sweet malt. Fruity but artificial. Dry saccharine. Not good.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Malty, bready nose, light fruit, pears. Medium gold with a low head. Sweet, malty flavor, light spices, bread, cake. Ok bitterness on the finish, but low hop flavors. Very one-dimensional. Heavy, creamy, rather thick. Ok, but not my kind of tripel. Too cloying.

Hazy yellow colour with a decent sized off-white head. Smells sweet, malt and barnyard. Tastes too sweet for me, flat and boring. Flat carbo, medium body.
