This beer is a response to the very bitter beers that are being brewed all around the world at present. In this case, the denomination IPA does not stand for India Pale Ale, but for Incredible, Powerful & Amazing. Instead of mostly American hops, 7 Flemish hops from the Westhoek region have been used. Obviously, the taste is very bitter, but the beer has a “balance” that makes it very drinkable and invites you to have another round.

even een samenvatting: mooi etiket, matig bier ! oranje looks, helder met schuimige witte kraag aroma’s zijn het beste van het bier; hoppig, fruitig, floraal, citrus, stro, gras, zoet, pilsmouten. de smaken vallen wat tegen, matig zoet, zwaar (hop)bitter, licht fruitig, graan, oud nat gras, mweehhh, medium body, glad van textuur, normale co2. zeker niet mijn favoriete biertje..

Bottle mixup, opened by accident, I thought this one was struise hopverdomme, sorry guys, Cloudy yellow, small white head. slightly hoppy and flowery aroma. Flavor is very malty, loads of belgian yeast spicyness, some hop bitterness, but overall just a bitter malt/yeast bomb.

33cl bottle at home, amber colour with a medium head, aroma not really ipa’sih, i cannot really tell what i smell, taste is bitter and ipa’ish, its not a really interesting beer, not an ipa i have had before :S but still drinkable.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a medium-sized, off-white foamy head. Distinctively grainy and bready malty, slightly sugary aroma with spicy herbal and mildly fruity hoppy notes. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Biscuity malty with herbal and nettle-like hops, getting stronger towards the sweet-bitter finish with still very present malty notes and a tinge of bubblegum in the aftertaste. Drinkable brew but very strange for an IPA. 04.XI.13

[10/8/13] Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas in Brussels. Clear deep golden. Aroma of malt, honey, fruits, some graininess and a faint hoppy note. Sweetish flavor, a bit caramelly, fruity, yeasty, a bit spicy, with a drier finish, more spicy, a bit bitter, with mild citric hops and a bit of alcohol feel. So-so.

From tap at Moeder Lambic. Pours cloudy orange with a small white and lacing head. Aroma is dry hoppy, toasted malty and breadish. Sweet malty, caramelish. Toasted and dry herbal bitter. Dry and bitter into the finish.

Bottle from ABC Leuven. Medium orange gold, cloudy, high, fine head. Malty, bready nose, Belgian yeast, citrus, biscuits. No IPA nose for sure. Again, a very malty flavor, biscuits and some honey, orange and lemon. It is hoppy for sure, but mostly in the bitterness. There is a good amount of dirty grassy hops, and some earthiness. I’m starting to see that this is what an IPA is here now—not like Houblon Chouffe or Duvel Tripel hop, but a tripel with a very bitter finish. Been finding lots of them. It’s definitely not bad, though I am a bit sick of overly bready blondes. This is a bit too so, but has interesting yeast fruitiness and huge bitterness.

Very nice, though had no idea this was supposed to be an IPA. Menu at Novare Res said it was more of a saison. Good, hop-forward BPA or saison is what it tastes like. Pours cloudy orange with great lacing and head. Perfume and citrus and some sweet malt. Sweet finish, average carbonation. Some musk.
