Sour Belgian Ale Aged on Peaches

With nearly 500 pounds of peaches, this sour Belgian Ale ferments on the fruit with our house yeast and Brettanomyces Claussenii for the better part of a year. The result is a juicy, funky paradise. Lightly tart and refreshing, this one drinks easy, with ripe peach and dewy citrus peeking through a farmhouse of funk.

Yeast: Kolsch, Capri, and Brett. Claussenii
Hops: Aged noble hops
Malt: Pilsner, Dark Munich, Wheat

Hazy, pale. Not much head. Really nice barrel, tartness, light orchard fruit. Lively tart body, light fruitiness, dry wood...good complexity to this. Excellent.

On tap at PreFunk Nampa Cloudy light tan pour. Decent coarse beige head. Light malty aromas with some slightly tart peach notes. More of the fruit in the flavors. Modest sour character. Some caramel candy sweetness and fairly big ber for a light fruit sour.

On tap at Prefunk. Pours a cloudy orange with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is strong peach candy, brett, oak. Thin body, wheat, peach, brett, light tartness, good.

Draft at PreFunk Nampa. Milky, pulpy pour, no head. Big stone fruit aromas, taste a bit more subdued. Unfiltered. Sweet, very gentle tartness.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy golden color, almost no head. Lean but robust beer, with moderate acidity; the peach adds a very pleasant delicate note that perfectly integrates with the rest.
Very good Sour beer, not too aggressive, balanced, with depth.
Excellent.

Draft - Vintage 2014 - Sweet peach candy. Clearish gold with a small head. Light funky stone fruit and a light finish. Nice and light, but peach has faded.

Bottle - Pours orange white head -nose/taste of peach, oak, funky peach pit - nose is a little off but taste is spot on - medium body. Tasty. This bottle must be getting better given the earlier ratings.

Spring cleaning notes. Tap at pub pours out a amber topped with a small white head. Nose is light peach, caramel sweetness, and some vinegar. Taste is still a touch of peach juice, some sweetness, and a good amount of pucker.

Sampled on tap at PIB, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and light fruits. Flavour of light fruits, booze, Belgian yeast - ABV is well-hidden - seems unnecessarily high though as the flavour is quite bland. Pretty light-bodied and thin for 8%. Not the most complex either. Decent.
