Forged from the finest Maris Otter malt and a special blend of American hops. The nose is of fresh citrus and berry fruits with a smooth juicy malt character and deceptively moreish finish that belies its strength.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 09/03/13. Clear pale golden with a thin frothy white head. Nose is pale malt, grass, lemon rind, orange. Taste comprises orange, light grapefruit, citrus fruits, some hop presence, touch of straw. Medium bodied with soft carbonation lending towards some bitterness in the finish. Ok stuff.

Cask at the Doric Arms, Euston. Poured a clear yellow straw with a thin broken head. Malty aroma. Lovely refreshing bitter flavour. Good palate. Would probably have tasted better in Sheffield but still pretty good.

500ml bottle from the Crafty Pint, Darlington market. Golden amber colour, foam white head leaving alittle lacing and aroma is malt caramel slight hop. Light caramel malt taste with some watery citrus bitterness and warm biscuity notes, leaving a lingering dry bitterness. Medium bodied, light carbonation, quite OK.

On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours golden with a nice head. The nose has some tropical fruit - maybe pineapple - as well as floral notes. The taste is a little bit more citrus but still thereโs the floral notes. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a citrus finish that is refreshing but not too sharp.Overall, a good solid citizen.

Aug 2009: This 500ml brown bottle with a best before the end of date Sept 2009 was poured into a Corsendonk stemmed tulip glass (twice) with only a month remaining before it turned into an aged beer! One of the palest UK beers Iโve ever seen or had. Golden pale, lager/pilsner looking, clear, bright and clean. The pure white head was larger than your average pilsner and stayed a whole lot longer too. The aroma was sweet biscuits, freshly cut wheat and an English country garden. The taste was a well balanced mix of hops, malts and yeast. The 5.2% was well hidden and only arrived towards the end of the mouthfeel. A very pleasant beer in its bottle form, as scored in this review: I have had it on cask too, it is even better in that form.
