Forged from the finest Maris Otter malt and a special blend of American hops. The nose is of fresh citrus and berry fruits with a smooth juicy malt character and deceptively moreish finish that belies its strength.

Cask @ Society Room, JDW. Hazy light golden colour, white head. Nose is light malted, vegetables, bit of citrus. Flavour is malty, vegetables, a bit dry. Dry finish. I really expected a lot from this, but what a disappointment!

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW. Pours clear, rich yellow with a tight, creamy white cap. Aroma is weak malts, slightly doughy. Medium sweet flavor with hints of citrus, straw, some decent bitterness. Medium in body with soft, tingly carbonation. Sweet, faintly warm finish, bits of straw and hay, sokme white sugar, orange and lemon citrus tang, a bit of dough and mild bitterness. An alright beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pale Rider (2024 -) on 03 Feb 2024 at 22:44 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Original review text: Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Thornbridge online. Pours clear yellow-gold with a modest, creamy white head. Light-medium sweet flavour with tasty pale bread, nips of white grape, melon, a little citrus rind, mild bitter straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty well balanced finish, more pale bread, biscuits, English yeast, straw, citrus rind. Tasty, easygoing and drinkable.

From cask at Fat Cat. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, light citrusy to peachy. Crisp bitter and mild fruity flavoured. Medium dry and bitter into the finish with a mild fruity touch.

50cl bottle from Asda in Rotherham. Iโ€™m probably biased too, coming from Doncaster and I went to Sheffield uni. Avery decent pale ale!

Cask at the Fat Cat, Sheffield on 6th February 2010. Gold with a lacing white head. Crystal clear. Rich hop-fest. Quite sharp in its hoppiness with herb and grass notes. Zingy mouthfeel yet smooth and easy to drink.

Bottle, Carringtons, Chorlton. Poured a pale gold colour with minimal head. Grassy hop came through in the aroma. Citrus and a decent amount of hoppiness in the flavour. Clean, easy drinking and smooth. Straightforward and simple, but very sessionable and better than many out there.

Cask @ Kelham Island Tavern. Malty, salty flavor with a touch of detergent. Neglectible aroma. Medium bodied. Still OK.

[Cask at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, Castleton, Derbyshire] Gold with amber hints, thin white head. Floral aroma. Strong grapefruit taste (some sourness) with floral hints. Very dry finish. Nice punchy flavours (I can see how itโ€™s won awards), but somehow overall it didnโ€™t quite work for me.
