Bottle from Morrisons, online at 4.5%. A great source for picking up traditional ales at £1.50 in UK and greater selection than in store. Pours black with small beige head, nice retention. Aroma is roasty, some chocolate, nuts, light coffee. Taste is the same with a light fruity berry note in the middle. Nice smoothness and carbonation to this. A very well balanced stout with a very good mouthfeel for the ABV. Arguably straightforward in flavour but it has all the elements you expect in a good stout. Enjoyed it.

Bottle. Black with a decent enough beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and espresso. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malts, chocolate pudding and espresso with a little fruity/tangy edge. Dry finish. Strong roasty and grainy bitterness. Medium carbonation. Well done and very flavorful for the low abv - quite impressive actually but maybe a this level of intensity is a tad too much for my taste.

Black. Aroma is light coffee some mushroom dark honey and melasses. Taste is dry coffee ground with bitter chocolate also some mushroom. Body is full enough. Not bad.

Sort med beige boblete, fyldig topp som varer. Aroma; malt, røyk, karamell, hint av sjokolade. Smak; malt, toffee, furu, humle, hint av sirup og mørke bær. Lett fruktig. Kort ettersmak.

May 2012: Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Very dark brown, nearly black colour, tan head. Aroma and flavour have mild roasty notes, mild coffee, chocolate. Silky smooth flavour, very pleasant to drink. Sure, there are "bigger" stouts out there, but this one is impossible to dislike.
