Draught at Porter& Sons, stable long lasting creamy head, opaque black color with some deep reddish taints, aroma of coffee with toasty and charred notes, flavor of chocolate and coffee with some charred notes, light bitterness, smooth and very nicely balanced. Very good and highly enjoyable.

Pours virtually black from the bottle and leaves a finger thick tan head. The aroma is roasted coffee, and a whiff of chocolate. Taste is burnt toast with hints of chocolate and coffee. Overall mildly bitter with an inconsequential finish. Body is relatively light, which is probably to be expected for a 4.5ABV stout. Decent stuff.

Bouteille 500ml. Premier nez aux tons de roti, de chocolat noir et de mélasse. Ressort également des petits fruits sauvages (style mures), un peu de sucre à la crème et des tons de toasté. Olfactif ma foi surprenant de douceur et de complexité. Mousse beige et crémeuse sur un liquide noir dont on peut percevoir la limpidité. Les tons de roti inondent l’entrée de bouche mais tout en finesse. Les saveurs de chocolat noir sont assez présentes. La complexité est moins grande qu’en olfactif. Présence délicate de petits fruits. Texture légèrement huileuse. Elle est douce et agréable en bouche. Très bonne stout. Bel exemple du style.

Bottle at Heathrow. Almost black pour with tiny beige head, barely more than a ring. Roast grain, burnt toast and s touch of sweetness for the aroma. Body seems a tad light. Taste had the roasty bitterness up front, V over notes, minor sweet flavors. Not bad, but on target.

500 ml bottle. Pours black with moderate lightish tan head. Aromas of balck coffe, ash, heavily roasted malts and notes of light sour dark fruit. Flavors are ashy roasted malts with just a hint of dark chocolate. Powdery dry though watery.

Pitch black, small frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma dark roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, light dark fruits. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, light chocolate, light coffee. Light to medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, roasty and a bit ashy, good stout.
