Welcome to the world of Cocoa Psycho, a liquid dimension where pure indulgence reigns.
This Imperial Stout borrows from the voluptuary decadence of 18th Century Russia, with its extravagantly smooth blend of crushed coffee beans, cacao nibs and dark malts.
Dig past the infusions of vanilla pods and toasted oak chips and eventually you’ll come face to face with the madness required to make this beer: a kind of depraved logic that would make Rasputin himself proud.
To fully unleash the aromas and bittersweet luxury of this stout we recommend drinking it from a stemmed beer glass before taking a sledgehammer to a Faberge egg.
Malts: Extra Pale, Wheat, Cara, Smoked, Black and Roasted Barley
Hops: Cascade, Fuggles and Goldings

Bottle, batch 164 bb 12-07-18. Black, dark brown head. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla/oak nose. Very full chewy body, without getting too heavy though. Hops (orangepeel, pine) and fruity notes cut through. Layered on top are roast, coffee, smoke, vanilla, sweet espresso, fudge, berries, tobacco. all well balanced and drinkable. - Very decadent indeed, bravo!

On tap at Brewdog Camden, London. Pours black with brown head. Roasted malts and chocolate aroma. Malty chocolate, cocoa flavor. Sweet and bitter. Very good beer.

12 oz bottle from XL Grindhouse. Nose is chocolate, licorice, roast, vanilla, and char. Black with a small cinnamon tan head that laces lightly. Flavor is chocolate, white pepperiness, and a hint of smoke and vanilla.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Oily black colour, dark brown creamy foam. Soft carbonation. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and ashes. Some sweetness, very bitter aftertaste. Well balanced.

Draught @ BrewDog Manchester, 35 Peter Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester England M2 5BG.Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dusty chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, cacao, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130125]

Keg @ Brewdog Birmingham. Pours dark / black, lots of complex roasted malts / dark chocolate flavours, with an aggressive bitterness thanks to the ABV. Expected more of the cocoa but there is a slight creaminess that creeps in. The kind of beer I’d like to savour in front of a roaring fire with a nice Curly Wurly.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes fast schwarzes Bier mit schöner beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch intensiv röstmalzig, Kaffee, schokoladig. Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffeebohnen.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Black with a thick chocolate head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and sweet dark treacle. Taste is dark roast and smoky, with coffee and chocolate. Creamy feel, and very easy to drink.
