Welcome to the world of Cocoa Psycho, a liquid dimension where pure indulgence reigns.
This Imperial Stout borrows from the voluptuary decadence of 18th Century Russia, with its extravagantly smooth blend of crushed coffee beans, cacao nibs and dark malts.
Dig past the infusions of vanilla pods and toasted oak chips and eventually you’ll come face to face with the madness required to make this beer: a kind of depraved logic that would make Rasputin himself proud.
To fully unleash the aromas and bittersweet luxury of this stout we recommend drinking it from a stemmed beer glass before taking a sledgehammer to a Faberge egg.
Malts: Extra Pale, Wheat, Cara, Smoked, Black and Roasted Barley
Hops: Cascade, Fuggles and Goldings

Bottle at home. Pours a pretty black colour with a brown, medium head. Nice looking! Dense and roasted aroma with lots of chocolate truffles, roasted coffee beans, leather, oak, port and warming alcohol. Wonderful. Rich flavours with even more coffee beans and some ash. Rich and soft mouth feel, and has a medium bitterness. Fantasticly roasted and rich imperial stout.

Bottled. Very close to black colour, mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is toasted malts, some floral and ripe fruity notes. Flavour is toasted malts, chocolate, coffee, some roasted and quite a bunch of spiciness to go with it. The alcohol does burn a bit, but not disturbingly much.

Bottle. Black colour with a tan head with short duration. Aroma has strong coffee, black chocolate, roasted and toasted malts and vanilla. Flavor is mainly dominated by coffee beans, red ripe fruit, slightly sweet at the beginning with a decent bitterness in the final, roasted and toasted malts, slightly caramel and licorice. The final is mild bittery, strong coffee beans notes and black chocolate. Dense, creamy and smooth on palate.

Bottle at Dean’s night before the night tasting, Den Haag. Poured a deep oily mahogany with a thin dark tan head. The aroma is big roasted malt with lots of dry coffee. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a big spicy pepper hop liqourice alcohol palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

A very strong malt and chocolate aroma but it smells like a strong beer. Taste is an initial chocolate and malt
