Old Peculier is a beautiful, yet very simple beer, brewed using a very generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley with two bitter hops combined with the majestic and noble ‘Fuggle’ hop to produce a beer of awesome full-bodied flavour with subtle cherry and rich fruit overtones.

From a bottle. Pours a clear cola with a thin tan head. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Flavors are moderately sweet pit fruits and banana. Light bodied but pretty tasty.

Bottle @ home. Nice deep dark red to amber-brown color, small to average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly dark malts, raisins, caramel. Decent body and carbonation. Decent beer.

Purchased at the Liquor Shed in Casper.
This pours from 12oz bottle a dark brown with ruby hues and a large head of offwhite foam. After a couple of minutes, it shrinks to a few islands and there's some lacing.
The smell is full of caramel malt and hints that the brew is going to be very sweet.
The taste has that caramel malt flavour up front but it's mixed with a dark fruit flavour that has a touch of tartness to it so it's not as sweet as the nose insinuated. Nice. This has a bit of chocolate and it has an almost whiskey taste to it and it combines well with the sweet and the tart...gives this brew a nice balance and makes it very drinkable. The finish is a nicely balanced and the aftertaste is pretty long lasting and very good.
The mouthfeel is silky smoth and the carbonation is on the light side; that, too, makes for some excellent drinkability. It's been a lot of years since I've had this and I don't recall liking it this much. Nothing like a more educated palate. lol

From old tasting notes. Brown color, nearly opaque. Tan head. Strong molasses-like aroma with sweet malty overtones. Sweet malt flavor is subdued yet interesting. Slightly sweet malty finish is brief but tasty. Good malty brew with substantial body.

I had forgotten how good this beer is. A lovely flavour and texture of malt and just a hint of hops in the background. They could up the hops and this would be a good black IPA. Overall very good and reminds me of those Sundays, in my younger single days, watching the Grand Prix at home when I would only drink this stuff.

Thanks Mali Perica! :D Clear daaark ruby body, small off white head. Fine malty aroma, primarily raisins, dried apricots, perfumy. Just classy. Taste... Mild maltiness, honey, dark cherry perhaps, vague cardboard, vague... Erm, coriander, bitterish, perfumey, yet interesting. Strange, great mouthfeel, yet some not so great flavors waft in. Bitterish finish. I can see how this stands out among regular English ales.

Dark brown colored, medium- beige head. Aroma is of caramel, dried fruit, some toffee, bit apple, light chocolate. Taste follows the nose with nice caramel and toffee malty notes, apple and dried fruit and light chocolate for the finish, light+ earthy and grassy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit oily.
