Pretty much average. Nice colour. Doesn’t really taste like a bok beer. Mouthfeel is fine.

Small greige head over cola-coloured beer. Sweet-fruity nose, caramel, and Maillard-covered raisinbread. Leafy, near earthy notes, with just enough sweetness, and a dry-bitter overbuild. Unfortunately they clash, rather than harmonize. Ends on a faint sourish note. Despite the moderate sweetness, it is a bit sticky, and the finish has a dry-out effect. Maybe medium bodied. Rather strange Bock, not really inviting.

bottle from Bierkoning - Thank you! Deep bronw colour, mid-sized head. Full-bodied, malty with flavours of raisins, caramel and roasetd malts. Spicy with a herbal accent.

On tap at Pint Bokbierfestival 09. Deep reddish amber colour, off white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel. Flavour is sweet, toffee, malts, like an IPA without hops. Light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. OK.

Bottle 30cl. @ [ Back2Bock Tasting ].Clear medium red amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, brown sugar, nutty notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and malt bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. From tap. Pours clear and golden deep amber with an almost fully gone head. Sweet strawberry like fruity note. Flavour has even more of this fruity strawberry to marmelade like sweetness. Shows a light malt base and more distinct bitterness into the finish.

Bottled (thanks jbrus!) Very deep rubyish brown colour, mediumsized pale brown head, which leaves a creamy lace. Aroma is rye bread, raisins, some mild alcohol as well as some slight caramel malty notes. Flavour is sweet, and a bit acidic fruits as well as soem rye bread. A bit sourish wooden notes as well as some caramel malts as well as grassy hops. Aftertaste leaves a nice wooden flavour in the throat, as well as some grass and ryebread. Hides the alcohol quite well, but is a bit watery as for the palate.

Draught, 6.5%. Weak roasted aroma. Very dark brown colour, seems clear. Small brown head. The flavour is very roasted with a slightly sour note, as if from malt syrup. Some fruitiness to the flavour which I do not feel belongs in a bock.

Tap @ Jan Primus. Dark brown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, some sweet yoghurt, candy sugar. Good roasted taste and decent bitterness, but with a slight sour hint to it. Bit unbalanced.
