Met trots presenteert de Brand Bierbrouwerij het frisse pils van hobbybrouwer Marc Vriens. Tijdelijk verkrijgbaar in zeer beperkte oplage. Een pils van constante kwaliteit brouwen is een uitdaging. Hobbybrouwer Marc Vriens ging die uitdaging aan en won de Brand Pilsbrouwwedstrijd. Samen met de brouwmeesters van Brand heeft hij zijn pils bij ons gebrouwen. "Geniet van mijn pils! Het heeft die typische hoppige neus en frisbittere smaak door de juiste balans van aroma- en bitterhop. Door het gebruik van pure zomermout heeft het een mooie goudgele kleur zoals een pils betaamt. Proost!" Marc Vriens, hobbybrouwer.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Good initiave brew from Heineken subsidiary, clear golden looks with light fruity bitter taste. Not that hoppy as the regular Pilsener from this brewery.

Bottle. Pale golden color. Soft grassy aroma with hints of malt, Fairly dry pilsener with a soft but persistant grassy hopbitterness and some distant bready notes. Well balanced. Perfectly acceptable.

Pilsener from a hobby brewer brewed at Brand. Stable, off-white head, colour of ’old gold’, cristal clear. Aroma of popcorn, straw, grassy hops, honey, some wet dog revealing deterioration of the hops in spite of the dark bottle. Taste malty, bit grainy, dry, no obvious metallic or otherwise ’unnatural’ components, ending in a relatively long, grassy hop bitterness. Quite alright, though the bottles I tasted were apparently just a bit too old already.

Maybe it’s me, but I don’t understand why they would do a pils brewing contest. The lager market is declining, they should focus on ales. This is just one more pilsner.

Trocken hopfiger Antrunk, weich. In zweiter Linie herb, die Hopfigkeit steht aber meist darüber. Trocken bleibend, bitterer werdend, etwas holzig. 10/8/9/9/9/9

30 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra webshop. Golden with a thin white head. Hoppy nose. Nice hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation and a long firm hopbitter aftertaste. Nice Pilsener.

Bottle shared at De Paas. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt, cardboard and citrus. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.
