St. Bernardus Wit is a traditional unfiltered Belgian white beer. It was developed in collaboration with Pierre Celis, the legendary master brewer who founded the Hoegaarden brewery, brewing their signature beer that was the driver of the resurgence of white beer in the 1950s. St. Bernardus Wit looks distinguished and classic with its attractive, golden-yellow colour hidden under a subtle veil – it epitomises the authentic Belgian cloudy white beer.

Il gusto al naso viene attratto dal frumento e dal floreale. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di aspetto velato e anche qui la grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata. La continuità gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il finale è pulito e dissetante. Il retrogusto è intenso. Sul tetto della bocca si attestano impressioni di miele, frumento, agrumi, pompelmo rosa, limone, mela verde e banana.

Bottle at home. Pours hazy golden with big white head. Aroma of oranges, citrus, coriander, bread, some ham. Taste sweet, with some citrussy sourness. Thin bodied, a little astringent, high carbonation.

0.33l bottle. Slightly hazy golden body with a huge white head. Aroma of bread, honey, coriander, orange zest and even a hint of banana. Taste of bready malts, coriander, orange and lemon zest and a touch of spicy hops. Medium body with quite high carbonation. Very refreshing and balanced. Great wit.

Never thought I'd see the day St. Bernardus started canning beer, but, holy hell, here we go. Makes for a good pint, not the greatest wit but worthy of the Pierre Celis pedigree. More herbal and estery than sweet, heavy on the soapy coriander with subtle honey and mild vanilla on the finish. Citrus and clove provide a baseline, while the fade grows bready and dry. Texture's good, if slightly undercarbonated, and the pour comes out a pretty hazed gold with a lingering white head and moderate lace. Not the brewery's best offering, but tasty.

330 ml bottle. Pours murky dark orange with big fluffy head. Coriander, lemon grass, orange cest, estery notes, salt, lactose and some apple and tart. Very mild taste, slightly dry and sour. Milky texture, medium bodied, soft carbonated, mild finish. Quite nice Witbier.

Bottle from Brewklopedia, Leicester. Creamy yellow and hazy, with a large loose white head, quite a lot of visible carbonation. Lemon peel, ground coriander and spicy yeast on the nose. Sweet and spicy taste with coriander and baker's yeast. A hint of sourness in the finish. Fairly thin body. A decent Witbier, very tasty if not the best I've ever had.
