Dark bock beer has already been brewed in the Archduke Brewery in Żywiec in 1860. It is made of water, hops and three types of malt: Pilsner, Munich, and caramel malt. It has a dark ruby colour and a mild, rich and luscious flavour.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is a equally nice roasted malt with a bakers chocolate. Finish is smooth with a touch of alcohol. Should a baltic porter be 9.5%? Decent beer and on the cheap side to boot.

Chyba jest to dla mnie najlepszy polski Porter. Ciemny z niewielkimi odcieniami rubinowymi, Piana żółta mocna i korzuchowa jakby, ale średnio trwała. Aromat orzechowo-czekoladowy. W smaku piernikowo-palone z lekkim akcentem śliwek. Słodkawy trochę nawet za bardzo. Ale finisz wytrawny to rekompensuje. Trochę alkoholowa rozgrzewka przytłacza.

Sampled from bottle at SIB, pours dark brown with a reddish tinge. Aroma of burnt coffee, brandy-like liqueur, and sweet plum. Flavour of brandy / sweet liqueur, light burnt coffee and roasted malt. Solid, medium-bodied porter.

500ml bottle, Used a snifter. Pours very dark brown nearly black with a beige head and good amount of lace. Aroma of rich roasted and caramel malts that creates a rich pleasant smell. The taste is a bold, full bodied malt and syrup with a good amount of warming alcohol on the way down. Lite bitter hop as it warms up as well as a slight sourness. A big bold Baltic porter that I could sip on until the early morning hours. This one pleasantly surprised me. A porter I will buy again for sure.
