Dark bock beer has already been brewed in the Archduke Brewery in Żywiec in 1860. It is made of water, hops and three types of malt: Pilsner, Munich, and caramel malt. It has a dark ruby colour and a mild, rich and luscious flavour.

50 cl bottle @ hotel room, Seattle. Rated on 16.07.2012.
Aroma is sweetish with roasted malt, cocoa and slightly salty licorice. Flavour is sweet with cocoa, roasted malt, salty licorice and some coffee. Too sweet and sticky but not bad anyway.

Bottle. Pours deep brown to black with a large beige creamy head with some lacing. Aroma of deeply roasted malt, coffee, sweet molasses, and a bit of alcohol. Flavor is lightly sweet roasted malt, bitter chocolate, coffee, molasses, raisins. Finish is lightly bitter with just a touch of the 9.5% ABV punching through as a warming note. Full bodied, rich and creamy in the mouth. Quite a tasty beer.

Brown 330ml bottle, best before 28 Jun 09, drank 23 Jan 09. Poured into a Gordons Thistle shapped glass. Cracking looking beer, really deep dark ruby red. The true colour can only be seen when the beer is held up to a good light source, otherwise it is just jet black. A deep rich foaming head, tan in colour, covers the body. The aroma is mostly toasted malts but with coffee and dark chocolate making an effort to join in. The taste follows the aroma but with more bite and depth, creamy and rich, this is a very good Porter. The chocolate takes over in the mouthfeel and the richness lasts well into the aftertaste. Well worth finding, this one came from Hammersmith (London).

Yes, baltic fer sure, after all isn’t baltic avenue in poland? Cheapest real estate around, heheh, but today possibly not. $2 for this big bottle of jahvyettes. Nice big black pour. Fairly clean sterile alky aroma. First taste is big and black like many impy stouts. Raking across my buds goes this leaf rake. Till the substrate of my tongue you close cutting alky powered lawn mower. So strong I didn’t notice the slight amount of co2 in there. Quite an impact. Does seem metallic or processed at times. Yes, big black beer, there ya go. 17 0z of 10% beer is enough to make you dizzy!
