Bottle at ZBF’12, Leuven, Belgium: Brown coloured brew with good coffee and roasted malts taste and the finish have that Belgian endive touch.

Flaska från Emil, vintage 2012. Mörk brunmurken vätska med mörkbeige krona. Maltigt, jästigt, lätt kryddigt. Inga markanta ålderstecken trots att den har några år på nacken. Helt ok.

Maenhout’s second, tasted from a 75 cl bottle. Thick, light beige head on a reddish, bronze beer. Aroma of honey, nuts, caramel, old port wine, brambleberries, cassis, grassy hops; taste at first a fresh sourish fruitiness, berries, then a nutty and caramelly maltiness, rounded and quite smooth and perhaps even slightly oily mouthfeel, sweetish raisin touch, finishing in a soft grassy hoppiness, gently bitterish.

Bottle, 75cl. A more or less clear one, auburn in color and with a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has dried fruits, some anise, and toffee-ish malts. The flavor is quite bitter, with the toffee-ish malts and dried fruits known from the aroma, but not much anise. Dry on the palate, full to medium body. Overall, quite decent, but nothing impressive. 130215
