This dry-hopped ale combines caramel and biscuit malt flavors in happy equilibrium with late addition American hops. The approachable balance is intentional, although the name is a "hoppy" accident.

12 ounce can from the Brewdog hotel mini bar. 3/17/21. Hazy amber, large foamy white head, good retgention. Aroma of toast, grain, nuts, honey. Taste is caramel, toast, grain, nuts, mild hops. Medium bodied, crisp. Mild lingering bitterness. Nice.

Nice drawing of a happy dude on the front of this orange copper colored can. Orange copper can. Sweeter IPA nose. First impression this is one kick ass brew. Strong, medicinal, does not hide the 6% it is. Decent co2, m\at least makes this rotting green grapefruit rind flavored beer somewhat drinkable. Yes, think stronger dull IPA mixed with some alky malty brew. Bitter IPA or rye finish.

Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a caramel honey color with a large creamy orange white head that left great lacing. The aroma was grainy with floral and fruity hops. The flavor was dryish and astringent with grain, fruity hopdand an herbal note. Medium length finish. Medium body

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 8/15/2017. Gusher can upon opening. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber/light copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, bread crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, bread crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, bread crust, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is a delicious American amber ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Balanced Cascade/Chinook hops with Crystal/Munich/Victory malts. A very enjoyable offering, and classic tasting style example.

12 oz can poured, with much thanks to Chris for the can. Sent straight from Cincinnati. Who Dey! Next time I fly out for a game, I might have to sit down at MadTree and have a few other beers of theirs. Golden amber color pour with a lasting foam head. Malt centered aroma, but mild. Flavor is a ton of biscuit and cracker like malt. Saltines, but with no salt. Maybe just a tiny bit. A toasty finish. Overall, a nice malt bill. Quite refreshing for such a malt centered ale here. Late hops add a subtle bitterness to pair, but the cracker malt is all that remains in the late palate. A tasty amber here. Easy to drink. Good beer.

Can thanks to micham8 - 10/23/14. Pours clear amber, medium beige head, dissipates fairly slowly leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is hoppy, primarily pine and spruce, with notes of caramel and biscuit leaking through. Flavor is light plus sweet and medium bitter, primarily pine, caramel, biscuit. Medium body, a bit creamy. Lingering bitterness.
