Our Steelworkers’ Oatmeal Stout was born to be big, bold, and proud – a beer fit for the men who built America. Nitrogen-dispensed for a creamy mouthfeel that accentuates the malt profile. An addition of oats to the mash results in a brew with incredible smoothness that finishes with a hint of dark chocolate sweetness. This is a Stout-lover’s paradise!

When we opened in 1998, we wanted to show our respect for the heroes of “the Steel.” This beer is brewed in honor of the men who provided the strength to our skyscrapers… The men who made the spans of our bridges… The men that provided the muscle for our warships…

Cheers, to a job well done.

2005 growler at the Mondial Ratebeer tasting, 6/4/05. Roasty and with some creamy, lightly nutty oats in the nose. Flavor has vanilla, coffee, oats, chocolate and finishes with a strong lingering flavor that integrates well the aforementioned. As it warms, I get more black malt notes, which seem to drive away some of the sweet, smooth charm it initially has. The body is loose and flat, and pours a dark brown, mahogany, quite opaque, but no head to be found. Seems they are making their beers very well here, but I just can’t find anything exciting in them. But solid execution, is in itself, exciting, I suppose.
