Draft - Corriander and fruity notes. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet and Perfumy with no showing of the huge ABV. Sweet, fruity, Perfumy, nice.

The beer is a light yellow-ish orange color. Opaquely cloudy but not thick with sediment like their wonderful (D)IPAs. Medium white head. Nice thick foam with good retention, lots of lacing. Aroma is a mix of mild Belgian yeast action, pale malt and an interesting sweetly fruity hoppiness. Mildly phenolic with a touch of raisin and some herbal stuff. Simple, lightly doughy malt sugariness. The hops are melon, strawberry, floral, lemon, lime, light pineapple. It’s all delicate and sweet. Taste is an interesting mix of the Belgian character and hops. It’s a bit hard to get a sense of the beer because of the hop flavor. The hops aren’t overbearing, but the taste is hoppy first and Belgian second. The base seems fairly light and mild for a tripel. Hops provide good flavor and relatively mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and creamy. Low astringency. Easy to drink for 8.5% abv. I definitely prefer their work in (D)IPAs, but this is a pretty tasty little beer.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Aroma is somewhat fruity with overripe stone fruit and light citrus notes. Some pear with hints of banana. Light to medium light herbal, phenolic notes. Some light cracker and a hint of caramel. Some light berry notes. Pours a somewhat hazy, but not as murky as other HH beers, copper orange color with a medium large, thick white head that exhibits good retention as it slowly recedes. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly dry with just a touch of sweetness. Some light malt notes of caramel and biscuit. Moderate;y strong bitterness accentuated by the dryness. Medium light grassy and herbal phenolic notes. Medium hop notes with over ripe stone fruit, pear and fresh berries. Hints of citrus and resin. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, an interesting and unique Belgian IPA with an interesting hop profile that works well with the esters and phenolics. Not a style HH is known for and not a great beer, but a good one nonetheless. I definitely taste and smell the El Dorado and Mandaria Bavaria hops, but mostly the El Dorado.

Thanks Joel.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow color with a thin glaze of white head. Speckled lacing occurs after dissipation.
The smell starts off with the normal sweet bready qualities of a Tripel and a light Belgian spice. Then the bitterness of citrus rind hits and blends nicely.
Follows up with a dry floral quality.
The taste takes the bitterness level just a tad further into the make up of the Belgian qualities of a Tripel. Sweet bready aftertaste leads into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light. Bitterness combines with the breadiness on my tongue really nicely, gets a little dry but hey, good for the most part.
Overall, third beer from Hoof Hearted I like what these guys are doing. I’d have this again.

Sample at the High Gravity Hullabaloo on 02/06/2016. The beer is a slightly hazy bright golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to a film. Sticky strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of herbal yeast, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of tropical fruit, yeast, doughy malt and mild grassy hops. The finish is fruity yeast and hops aftertaste. Solid beer all around.
