Introducing our family’s new Leinenkugel’s® IPL – as in India Pale Lager. Everything you love about hops comes through more clearly because it’s a lager instead of an ale. We taste tropical, citrus notes and a little spicy pepper, but give it a try and see what you discover.

Copper with a white head. Caramel, pine, and little else. Full bodied. Not a ton of bite in the end. Ok.

Pours a nice light amber from a bottle. Tropical fruit aroma shines out, similar flavor, refreshing and a crowd pleaser. Good beer.

Kibble, cashew, and caramel nose. Hazy copper, medium yellow head. Kibble, dried leaves, tree bark. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Rather like a hoppy dunkelbock, a neat idea in theory that may attract a cult following, but not for me or most people.

12 ounce bottle, 4/12/16. Clear copper, large foamy off-white head. Good retention. Aroma of floral, citrus hops and crisp pale malt. The taste is bitter citrus hops, wet dog, pale malt. Thin bodied.

OK, you know india pale happy bullshit has become ubiquitous when Liney starts making an IPL and Blue Moony makes an IPA! LOL LOL. Pretty dawg gone funny. Looks like an IPA. Smells a lot like a duller fruity ipa. But I must say, it lacks any of that contemporary BO I get on the nose so much from today’s IPA. Has a lot of those IPA flavors super impressed into a lager I guess. Big chewing green grapefruit rinds mixed with pine sap tar all while chewing on spruce needles attitude, just like an IPA that’s treading on impy IPA territory. Yes every swig is a mouth coating palate wrecking roto taste bud tilling experience. Over the top. One thing tho, and I guess this is how you can tell its not an ale?.....It seems to be less viscous and has a little co2 in there. Not impressed with the over all lager wants to be an ale happy BS. Go figger. Look, this has all the attributes of imperial IPA, and it doesn’t mean it’s easier to take because its a fricken lager! Terribly on stupid ass style. WIK, WDIC?

Not bad, but nothing too impressive either. Faint hop, malt aroma. Flavor’s a little more pronounced. Fairly dry, bitter. Good, if there aren’t better options.

Bottle. Pours a bright, clear golden orange color with a finger of creamy eggshell head. Nose is spicy and floral hops, very little citrus. Floral and spicy hop bitterness in the taste, again very little sweetness. The hop bitters really come through, grass... seemingly 2-row. Overall a nice refreshing drink and exceeded my expectations. More citrus notes and this would be a killer summer beer.
