Say g’day to a grog brewed with some of Australia’s finest hops. pFriem Down Under IPA is a bright copper beer overflowing with notes of strawberry, kiwi, citrus and huckleberry. So let’s raise our pints to a beer packed with more hops than a western brush wallaby.

Draught. Gold body with white head. Fruit aroma, but not too fruity. This is an ale, not a jam. Clean finish with citrus. Full bodied..

Some light citrus but not a lot going on here like school detention. Golden pour with decent head. Crisp finish. Tap at Churchkey.

Once upon a time, New Belgium and Elysian collaborated on a trip series called the Down Under IPA. It was delicious. I asked ten different people and sent an email asking whether this recipe would ever be made again. No answer other than doubtful. Being before my Ratebeer days, I never rated this beer that made me fall in love with IPAs, back when I was 21 and discovering craft for the first time. I saw this label, and it reminded me of my early days discovering beer. And this beer is a good reminder, as well as a closure to the beer I only got to try once, and loved it. I’d like to think this beer is greater than, or equal too. It is pretty damn tasty. Bottle poured. High carb, golden pour with a cream cake head. Citrus hop aroma. Flavor is sweet tropical fruit. Kiwi, yes. Mango, even more so. Low bitter IPA, with a cream body, and delicious fruit character. Cool finish. It’s cool to go to a place, buy their last bottle of this, and enjoy the hell out of it. Model IPA here. Headliner for its more specific than IPA beer category. I would totally drink another, but yeah, like I said, it was the last one.
