Bottle in Winter Park with jcnielsen. Big thanks to Lukaduke for sharing the love. Pours a dark brown appearance with a thin dark brown head. Aroma has roast, dark fruit, raisins, plums, tannins, light smoke, and some char. Pretty high carbonation. Flavor is a funky, very roasty, and fairly dry. High boost. I’m not a huge fan of this, but I will say that there is a kiss of maple on the back end that is pretty tasty.

Brown with a lot of red. thanks AFH for sharing these. Smells like jam made with raisins, figs and prune juice. The fig just straight up dominates this aroma. Fig, prune and others dominate this with maple syrup potently striking at the finish. The biggest issue I have with this (sorry Dave) is I don’t get anything related to a Porter...much less an imperial porter. The booze is hidden, there’s just a lot of sweetness, no roast no toffee, coffee, espresso, roast, chocolate. It’s more like a fruit beer.

500 ml bottle purchased at the brewery about a week ago. Dark brown in color, some small head, light lacing. Aroma is rich with figs, sugar and natural maple hints.
Flavor has layers of figs. Fig for days… Maple is a slightly large influence without becoming cloying. It is sweet but not overly so. The mouthfeel has a lower carbonation level with an oily texture. Medium in body that leans on fuller. Nicely crafted.

Bottle from Bert’s Pours a solid dark brown with a frothy bubbly tan head that shows moderate retention. Rich chocolate earth and tobacco on the nose with bits of sweet pitted fruit and a touch of caramelized sugar. A bit more dark fruit on the flavor than I was anticipating based on the nose. Sweet sugary chocolate with bits of earth and a lingering restrained roasted finish. Somewhere about mid palette there is a sharp tart fruitiness that clashes a little. Interesting beer and a pretty nice sipper.
