Our dry Portuguese vinho verde style mead fermented with yeast from Portugal.

Vinho verde can be relied upon to be light, crisp and aromatic, sometimes with a touch of perceptual sweetness, and Garrido is no exception. It is honey fermented with enough juice from a popular white grape varietal to make this mead actually 1/3rd white wine. We put a lot of care into this mead as it is dedicated to our beloved Grandfather who we grew up making wine with. That is why we couldn't be happier for it to have become one of our most popular meads to date.

Bottled shared at Farewell to Ferndale share. Thanks to whoever brought this bottle! Pours a clear honey gold. Nice legs in the glass. Honey, white grape and must aromas. Palate shows more grape and honey. Smooth and simple pyment.

500ml bottle pours out like water. Nose is grape an odd sulfer note. Taste is grape a touch of honey sweetness and a odd end.

Bottle from the Meadery. Pours a clear bright gold color. Bright aroma and flavor of sweet honey and grape. Refreshing and clean. Perfect for drinking outdoors on what is turning out to be a really nice spring afternoon. Goes down so easy and clean that it could get dangerous.

Light, bronze-brass body shows good clarity and viscosity.
Poignant, white grape, almost sherry-like acidity mixes with nuttiness and vanilla, with strong grassiness that is immediately softened by rich, but well-attenuated honey. Big minerality still mimicking white grape and sherry, with light earthiness and nuttiness on the end. A touch of light alcohol, actually complementary to the nose lingers, with very light orange blossom.
Even more complex flavor and my favorite of the four melovinos. Sherry-like, with a strong grassy, nutty, almost cedary dryness. The sweetness comes through the middle, mixed with balanced acidity, adding plentiful richness and slowly fades to a more dry, grape and orange-like finish, with black pepper and strong minerality. Excellent stuff! Love the levity and brightness here, and I especially like that Melovino doesn’t lean on huge, rich, sweet honey flavors to build/sustain interest/flavor. Like the Zenne Y Frontera of meads.
