From tap at Fat’s Head, Portland. Aroma is dark roasted malt, coffee, fruity hops, tropical fruits, chocolate, grapefruit, notes of pine resin. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a long bitter finish. Body is medium. Very nicely balanced BIPA, hoppy with good firm roast and choc.

Draft - Nice bright leafy sweet hops. Jet brown with a rich beige head, sweet hops and an nice finish. If it weren’t for the color I would have guessed black IPA, not enough balance.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was fruity hops, pine and tangy lemon. The flavor was tangy and tart with citrus, pine, a bit of cactus and black food coloring. Medium length finish with a growing bitterness. Medium body. ok.

On at Fat head’s PDX. Pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. A nice creamy palate. Soft ashes and chocolate in the nose, some citrus. It all goes well together in the flavor with chocolate, pine, roast, some light bitterness throughout. Quite good. Can this!

Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of piney hops, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, citrus and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
