Keg pour at the taproom in Columbus. Pours opaque very dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma: sweet & roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, hints of coffee. Taste: light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter, dark malts, dark fruits, cacao nibs. Medium body, light carb, dry bitter finish. I found this a little dull for the style

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was toasty and malty with notes of cocoa and malted milk. The flavor was bitter, roasty and woody with coca, caramel, vanilla and a hint of dark fruit. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

On draught at the "Deep Search Launch" on 02/10/2016. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Medium body with flavors of roasted coffee, malt and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is roasty with a malt and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
