12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 2/17/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep orange amber/light copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, honey, caramel, toasted biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Slight lingering hop astringency near the end of the glass, but not overwhelming. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Mildly warming alcohol for 8.6%. Overall this is a delicious DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV; despite the increasingly bitter/drying finish. Super juicy, fruity, and tropical on hop flavors; sizable malt backbone, but never overly sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

Sample at the Ale Wine & Spirits beer tasting on 04/03/2014: Dark orange color with a thin white color that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy hops, citrus and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Pretty average overall.
